An Award of Excellence was given to the Ladysmith Healthcare Auxiliary Thrift Store upgrade and expansion building project. On May 7, 2021 the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) gave out awards to various categories of commercial buildings completed in 2020. The Auxiliary award was for the category Commercial Renovations. The award was based on criteria which included being aesthetically pleasing, complementing the surrounding streetscape, having unique architectural features and incorporating environmentally friendly elements. The Auxiliary is very pleased to have been recognized for achieving these goals.
