Since 2009 the Ladysmith Health Care Auxiliary has participated in 3 Festival of Lights parades and 2 Ladysmith Days parades. Organizing for the parades, particularly getting enough people to participate, is a fair amount of work but the parade itself is great fun and a good way to raise community awareness. We are always warmly welcomed by spectators. In the 2021 Ladysmith Days parade we gave out kids books as well as candies. The books were very well received, so much so we ran out before the end of the parade.
